Basic Features

Depending on how each course is set-up, certain features will be available. At a minimum, all courses will have the following features available.

Pause Button

To prevent KEWL from being bogged down by inactive sessions, KEWL is designed to automatically log-off users who are inactive after 20 minutes. To disable this feature, click the Pause Button on the Home Page and a pop-up window will monitor your paused session. To turn off the Pause feature, click the “Close” button in the pop-up window. Below, the Red Arrow to the right points at an image of the Pause Button.

Course Documents

Within a specific course, the instructor may provide you with digital copies. To access these documents, click the Course Documents button (Red Arrow 1 below).

Discussion Forum

Discussion forums can encourage higher levels of thinking, allow learners the opportunity to formulate and present ideas, and encourage the sharing of information. To access the Discussion Forum for a specific course, click the Discussion Forum button (Red Arrow 2 below).

Learner Lounge

The Learner Lounge provides certain resources that are useful to students. To access the Learner Lounge, click on the Learner Lounge button (Red Arrow 3 below)

Bookmark this Page

You create your own shortcuts for content in a given course. To do this click on the “Book Mark this Page” button (Red Arrow 4 below).

Digital Notebook

While you are working on a given page, you can take notes. To take notes, click the “Take Notes on this Page” button (Red Arrow 5 below). To review your notes, click the “View Notes” button (Red Arrow 6 below).
