Overview
The purpose of this USAID funded project is to develop the country as a world-class ICT services provider, provide government services to stakeholders online, provide affordable Internet access to all segments of the population, develop an ICT enabled workforce, and create an enabling legal and regulatory environment. During the summer of 2006, the CBDD facilitated a kick-off summit to accomplish the following objectives:
- Plan projects & activities for 2006 – 2007
- Mainstreaming of ICT in curriculum; adopting ICT in education
- Devise mechanism on how to increase collaboration & co-opetition among member schools & CICT
- Plan the adoption of free software / open source applications in learning & management
- Minimize gap between the ICT industry & the schools
- Government-Industry-Academe (GIA) Forum: industry plans & programs; how school address the lack of “required” ICT skills; increase collaboration among G-I-A
