Rural Networks
is an interdisciplinary workgroup focused on creating jobs and creative leadership capability needed for sustainable rural communities. The approach is holistic. For example: Providing training to help rural schools be more successful in graduating high achieving students ready for higher education and the needs of 21st century citizens, entrepreneurs and knowledge workers. Nurturing local community leaders with resources and training critical to advancing sustainable social and economic solutions for rural communities, especially those in poverty. Contributing to over 200 new information sector jobs created in Washington's rural communities since 2002. The Center's projects have resulted in numerous new creative community-based projects led by capable local leaders in over 25 Washington communities.
