Ryan SainI spend much of my time working with the NetTel Africa program. I have a strong background in research methodology and teaching at the university level with both online and face to face classes. I will be a co-instructor in the NetTel Masters degree program, teaching the research methods course. Also with NetTel I have been working on the program evaluation - from both a qualitative and a quantitative approach.

I earned my phd in experimental psychology from washington state university. My research interests include pedagogical issues; self management of high risk behavior; from a behavior analytic perspective.

Currently my position is the deputy director of global networks at the center to bridge the digital divide.I work directly with Dr. Maria Beebe (the director of global networks) I'm currently the Deputy Chief of Party on the Afghan eQuality Alliances (www.afghanequalityalliances.net and angel.uwc.ac.za) - a cooperative agreement with USAID. The project is focusing on strengthening the higher education sector in Afghanistan. In addition to this I will be doing some work through the USTDA in partnership with CTIT focusing on telecommunications issues in Ethiopia. Previously, I worked on the NetTel@Africa project directly under Dr. Maria Beebe.

Additionally, I'm working with several people to develop a research vehicle for studying HIV/AIDS prevention and related issues at the university levels in southern Africa.

This position has been wonderful. The work I've done in Africa and Afghanistan is unbelievably rewarding and have produced quite the educational experience.

I look for ward to future projects in the Global Networks and hope to continue doing international work for years to come.
